Probably Medici grand-ducal collection, Florence; sold at auction, Florence, 17-20 May 1797, part of lot 100, bought by the Florentine dealer Campolini; acquired by the 1st Duke of Buckingham and Chandos in the early nineteenth century; sold at the sale of his collection at Stowe in 1848, lot 82, where it was acquired by Gambier Parry.
