It is thought that this jar may have been made in the Masci family workshop, the most prominent maiolica and lustreware makers in Deruta from the second half of the fifteenth to the early sixteenth century.

Provenance

Acquired in Florence by Thomas Gambier Parry, between about 1861 and 1875.
