Label Text

Although presumably intended to be used as a service, Omega plates were a rare commodity as intimated by Virginia Woolf who wrote that if one were broken ‘all the shops in London may be searched in vain for its fellow’. Monochromatic glazes, such as this rich cobalt blue, ran counter to the highly decorative ceramics popular in Britain and Europe at the time.
