Inscription: Secondary support (sandwiched between drawing and backing card, visible via transmitted light): newspaper with some lines legible about “the case” “ Christmas” suggesting it is from the same clipping as that under D.1952.RW.826.3 relating to the trial of Honor and Bridget Stackpole for the murder of James Stackpole. Verso (backing card): centre, inscription erased and now illegible; lower right, graphite: "c". Mount (removed, see photo), Recto: under each drawing, graphite: "A B C / D E F / G H I"; lower left, graphite: "D. A,F, - from same sheet / B,H, " " " / E,G, " " " / C,I " " ""; lower right, graphite: "Richard Henry Nibbs / c. 1816 - 1893".
