Watermark: Watermark: centre: foolscap above a triangle above three stacked circles (approx. 11.5 cm high, no exact match in Churchill, Heawood or Piccard).

Inscription: Recto: within the drawing, on scroll at lower left, black chalk, signed and dated by the artist: "Epistel / Brieff / Geschreven door den / H. Apostel / Jacobús //" and below that, first three letters in monogram "JDBraÿ 1662 7/27 //".

Collector's mark: Verso: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
