Watermark: centre: Arms of Lorraine - entwined "C"s and cross of Lorraine under a crown (identified by Peter Bower, no further information given).

Inscription: Recto: lower right edge, brown ink, probably signed by the artist (see notes): "L.D.V.". Verso: lower right, graphite, second line erased and hard to read: "Lucas de Valdès / Seville 1661 - 1724"; lower right edge, graphite, Witt number: "Vadder 2315".

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left corner, stamped in blue ink: Alliance des Arts (L.61).
