This vase is one of the largest surviving Omega Workshops ceramics. Its scale meant that Fry had difficulty keeping it centred on the potter’s wheel, resulting in visible asymmetry. Far from frowning upon such irregularities, Fry embraced the accidental as evidence of the unique touch of the artist. Fry was particularly proud of the effect of the turquoise glaze, with a similar example featuring in several of the Omega’s advertisements.
