This print reproduces J.M.W. Turner’s oil painting St Michael’s Mount (1834, Victoria and Albert Museum) and forms part of the Turner Gallery, a series of 60 engravings after Turner’s most famous paintings published in 1859-61. The print, an example of an artists' proof (before letters), is from the original edition (elephant folio), and is stamped with the Printsellers' Association blindstamp lower left.
