The Paragon Press was founded in 1986 by Charles Booth-Clibborn to advance modern printmaking. Artists are invited to produce a portfolio of prints to extend and enrich their current practice. The Press gave a selection of these works to The Courtauld Gallery to encourage the study and wider understanding of contemporary printmaking.
Many of these prints are now considered to be major aspects of the artists’ works, such as this series by Doig. In this work he uses a variety of etching techniques to create a richly layered, mysterious landscape.
