Label Text

Printed unusually in brown ink, this the only known impression taken from the block. The view is unidentified but the lofty wooden building with barn-like lower floor suggests a continental farmhouse. The work most probably dates from the 1930s. This signed print, one of the rare landscapes in Gill’s oeuvre, demonstrates her mature style: fluent and expressive yet showing a naturalism absent from her earlier, more decorative prints.
