Inscription: No. 1. Represents two Shots made of Granite, & which were fired from the Castle of Abydos, on the Asiatic side of the Dardanelles into the / Endymyan Frigate the Hble. Capn. Capel, when that squadron was under the command of Sir John Duckworth, in those streights in the / year 1807. The larger shot weighs upwards of 7 Cwt. & was fired at the distance of a quarter of a mile: the lesser killed & wounded 15 men. //
