Inscription: JOSEPHUS in a CAVE, after the Siege and Destruction of JOTAPATA, casting Lots with his Com- / panions, which should first destroy each other, in order to avoid dying by the hands of the Romans, / when only Josephus with one of his Companions escaping the dreadful Catastrophe, they surren- / dered themselves to the Romans, by whom they were honourably threated. //
