Inscription: inscription : typed : lower margin centre pasted outside plate mark & recto : : Galeazzo Campi. / Born at Cremona in 1475. -Died-. / The Portrait of the Artist, painted by himself, (though it has been ascribed to Leonardo da Vinci,) here engraved, is a specimen of his abilities. It is from the Gallery Settala at Milan. He was father to Guilio Campi, founder of the celebrated School at Cremona.
