Inscription: inscription : printed : lower centre margin & recto : : Mrs Hester Tradescant / from an Original Picture in the Ashmolean Museum Oxford / In 1622 Elias Ashmole preferred a bill in Chancery ag.t Mrs Tradescant to recover her / late husbands museum. In 1664 the Cause came to a hearing. In 1674 Mr Tradescant / delivered up the Collection pursuant to a decree in Chancery [ampersand] April 1678 / she was found drown'd in her Pond at Lambeth //
