Watermark: Watermark: centre: star above shield containing sword with a hilt, from the pointed end there branches off a curved end as well (no match found in Briquet or Piccard).

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left, stamped in black: Sir Joshua Reynolds (L.2364).

Inscription: Recto: lower left edge, written twice, in dark brown ink over lighter brown ink: “Andrea del Sarto”. Mount borders (historic), Recto: lower left, brown ink: “21” and adjacent to that, in graphite: "3"; lower centre, graphite and again below that in brown ink: “Andrea del Sarto”; lower right, graphite, unclear: “V[…]”. Mount borders (historic), Verso: lower centre, graphite: “Andrea del Sarto”.
