Watermark: Watermark: Recto, left centre edge, fragment: lower half of a foolscap with five points above three stacked Medici balls, 2.4 cm between chain lines.

Inscription: Verso: lower left edge, graphite, now hidden under handling edges so illegible: probably "Rembrandt [...]". Mount (removed, now missing, recorded in 1983 catalogue): “A 53” and “la fureur de Saul” [hand of Paul Mathey?].
