Inscriptions

Watermark: Watermarks: centre: large but obscured by drawing – a canopy above a coat of arms?. Backing sheet: lower centre: a sun with ten points (not found in Heawood).

Inscription: Recto: lower centre edge, brown ink, artist's hand (according to Seilern): “Tellari 13. Telle 2” and beside that in a different brown ink: “dell Sig:e Serafino Brici” and beside that a graphite inscription has been erased and is now mostly illegible. Verso (hidden under backing sheet, visible via transmitted light): upper right, brown ink, underlined: “13[?]21”. Verso (backing sheet): upper centre, brown ink, underlined: “No. 1562.” (not in Lugt); right lower edge, graphite: “8”; lower right corner, graphite: “12:12 / 5 . 3 / [sum line] / 15 15 / 111 10 / 1”.

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left corner, blindstamped: Thomas Lawrence (L.2445).
