Watermark: Watermark: upper edge: flanked by hammers, “SCHOELLERS - HAMMER” (German papermaker founded 1784, still in business).

Inscription: Verso: upper right corner, graphite, T. Creke-Clark’s hand: “Portrait head of Johannes Wilde / Ferenczy, Beni (attrib. to) //”.

Stamp: Verso: lower left corner, incompletely stamped in black ink but is same as on D.1970.XX.7: a triangle containing an eagle standing on a globe above “VON DER / ZENTRALSTELLE / FUR DENKMALSCHUTZ / ZUR AUSFUHR / FREIGEGEBEN //”.
