Mount (removed, in portfolio from P&D), Recto: centre, graphite: erased and illegible; lower left, graphite: “vert bleu”; lower centre edge, graphite, circled: “26”. Mount (removed, in portfolio from P&D), Verso: upper centre and rewritten in another hand below, both graphite: “sans doute le Cardinal Jean Baptiste Pamphili / dont la physionomie rud[?] et severe a été / imortalisé par Velazquez quand il fut etre pape / en 1644 agé de 75 ans - sous le nom / Innocence X. Le dessin date donc d'avant 1666. //”; upper right corner, graphite, partly covered by tape: “PR [...] T A G[...]”; upper right and rewritten below in a different hand, graphite: “dessin preparatoire pour / le cardinal Pamphili / et d'après un tableau / de ca collection ? //”.
