This dynamic pattern of intersecting triangles has affinities with both Cubist and Futurist paintings of the period. The confetti-like dots and fractured composition may have been inspired by the Futurist artist Gino Severini, whom the Omega artists admired. Unlike the Futurists, who sought to capture speed and movement in their art, the Omega artists focused on the possibilities of surface decoration. The purpose of this design is uncertain. It may have been intended for the portfolio of reference designs held by the Omega Workshops that had intentionally flexible uses.
