In October 1916, Lalla Vandervelde, the wife of the Belgian ambassador, commissioned the Omega Workshops to decorate her London flat. Roger Fry undertook most of the work himself. This design shows the Omega’s distinctive use of colours: walls in sienna with pilasters in pale petunia.
