This brightly coloured design of a dancer as a winged fairy or butterfly was intended to have the left arm articulated, as indicated by the little hole on her shoulder. Gill perhaps envisaged her designs as part of the series of toys already on sale at the Omega Workshops and advertised in their sale catalogue.
