Much of the Omega’s abstraction was rooted in the natural world. Here, dynamic lines and bold primary colours form the plumage of two peacocks. Joined at the beak, the two birds create a unified pattern against a striking green ground. This design was used to decorate a silk stole, now at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The Omega Workshops experimented in combining art with fashion, blending avant-garde aesthetics and popular styles. This echoed the Omega’s intent to incorporate art into everyday life.
