Inscription: Recto: handwritten from upper left, graphite: but for all those in all ages of the / World who through the Spirit should / behold him as their atoning high priest. / 4 The benefits that flow from X / taking away Sin, Restoration to the / Divine favour, a feeling sense of the / evil nature of Sin and its awful con- / sequences and an earnest desire to / be delivered from the Love and power / of it God beholds Christ as his Lamb / and when the Holy Spirit convinces / a man of Sin and gives him a faith / view of Christ he behold him as God / lamb and then sees the [last word crossed out] indeed the / exceeding Sinfulness of Sin:- Here / followed and exhortation to believers / to point their fellow men to Christ / who had done so much for them. / and to consider Sin as [last word crossed out] in the immensi / ty of it in the sufferings and death / of Christ - and to live to him in all / their ways - the stone put upon the / mouth of the tomb could not hinder / Christ rising to put away Sin as; bottom right corner, graphite: 20.
Verso: handwritten from upper left, graphite: might we attempt to stop the / sin from rising by rolling a stone / to the east, as to prevent him / from performing that which he / had covenanted to do and which / he had power to accomplish -.
