Sir William Stirling Maxwell (1818-1878); by descent to Sir John Stirling Maxwell (1866-1956); E. Parsons & Sons (London); purchased there by Sir Robert Witt, London (1872-1952), n.d. (4 shillings); Witt Bequest 1952 Stirling Maxwell's Spanish drawings were sold at Parsons in 1921, and the Witt numbers immediately preceding this were purchased there at that sale, but there is no mention in Parson's catalogue of Stirling Maxwell owning any of the Italian drawings. Also Witt included the Parsons catalogue clippings on the previous Witt cards but not on these Ghezzi purchases.
