Provenance
Thomas Woolner (1825-1892); purchased from his heirs? by Sir Robert Witt, London (1872-1952), L.2228b, n.d. (6 shillings); Witt Bequest 1952 There is no Witt card and I am unsure if the notes in the file indicating this was purchased from Woolner are accurate or if they are based on the assumption that because nearby drawings (ie 467) were purchased there this was as well; all of the other drawings purchased from Woolner are by Flaxman, so this would be the sole outlier.
