Watermark: Watermarks: centre: "WJ" [?] (similar but not an exact match to Heawood 3114, not dated--it is difficult to read this watermark as it is in the same area as that on the Support). Support (historic): centre: fleur-de-lis in coat of arms (similar but not an exact match to Heawood 1849, dated 1755).

Inscription: Recto: upper left, pen and ink: “1 Sketch by Angelica Kauffman – a design for a portrait, painted by her of Anne Seymour [scratched out] Conway – afterwards married to the Hono John Damer”; lower right, on the mount, graphite, Colnaghi number: “A.16541”.

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left, black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
