Collector's mark: Support (historic), Recto: lower left corner, pen and brown ink: Santo Varni (L.3531) - although the writing does not look the same as on Lugt, though the photos online are too small to see clearly. Verso (backing sheet): lower left corner, stamped in black: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).

Inscription: Recto: within the drawing, lower left on shield, brown ink: “Diverso”; lower left corner, brown ink, signed?: “Giulio Benso”. Support (historic), Recto: lower left corner, dark brown ink: “7” written above a crossed out “199” and beside that in lighter brown ink, L.3531?: “Coll.ne S. Varni”. Verso (backing sheet): upper left corner, graphite: “£13..[illegible]”; centre, blue crayon: “Benso”; lower left, blue crayon: “WC” with a diagonal line below pointing towards the lower left corner; lower left corner, graphite: “731”; lower left edge, dark brown ink over graphite: “di Giulio Benso £12.50”; lower right corner, graphite, modern mount instructions: “#1 / Open / Imp”.
