Verso (hidden under Japanese tissue, visible via transmitted light): upper right, graphite: "Everdingen"; rest of verso inscriptions no longer visible, but recorded in 1986 catalogue as two more in graphite: "Ro[...] £10/1638" and "102".

Collector's mark: Verso: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
