Watermark: Watermark: Recto, right centre edge: top of bunch of grapes with small curved stem (no match in Heawood - the fifth row is the widest, at 3.3 cm, so probably composed of 10-11 rows. Per Peter Bower, it is typical of 17th-century French wrapping paper).

Collector's mark: Verso: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).

Inscription: Recto: lower left edge, graphite: "Van Der meulen". Verso: lower right, graphite: "Van der Meulen / From the Harcourt Collection //".
