Duke's hand: "D590/ John Nixon Exh RA 1781-1815 / A Study of the Westminster Election 1784 / Candidates Sir Cecil Wray [the former name added in a bubble and the single 'Wray' written in that space crossed out] agst Fox + Hood / LGD / Sec Wray on hat baned [sic]"; lower right, graphite, erased and hard to read: "H /8"; lower centre edge, brown ink: "No. 1255-".
