Watermark: Watermarks: centre: shield containing "F" above three small stacked hills (variant of Heawood 2616 - Rome 1638). Support (historic), Verso: lower centre: Pro Patria; countermark at upper centre: circle containing a crowned wreath surrounding "GR" (matches Churchill 128 - dated 1696).
Inscription: Support (historic), Verso: upper right corner, graphite, circled: "20"; upper right, brown ink: "No. 303."; centre (now hidden under L.2687): "No. 35".
Collector's mark: Support (historic), Recto: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b). Support (historic), Verso: centre, an etched coat of arms on separate paper: Baron Milford (L.2687).
