Inscription: Verso: lower left corner, brown ink, probably William Mayor's hand, second line very small and unclear: "W.M.1858 / 60 [?] //"; lower left edge, graphite: "246"; lower right corner, graphite, Colnaghi number: "A8556". Mount (modern, presumably transcribed from a former mount): "From the collection of the Marquis de Lagoy, W. Mayor + Henry Oppenheim A 8556 cc/-/- 21/-/-".

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: William Mayor (L.2799); lower right edge, stamped in black ink: Jean-Baptiste-Florentin-Gabriel de Meyran marquis de Lagoy (L.1710). Verso: lower left, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b); lower left corner, pen and brown ink: probably William Mayor (L.2639), transcribed above.
