Inscriptions

Watermark: centre: circle containing a cross above “IHS” above three-pronged arrows, all above a banner containing letters “C V D” [?] (not found in Heawood or Piccard).

Inscription: Recto: upper left corner, brown ink (now faded): “Carton du Louvre”. Verso: upper left corner, graphite: “2798”. Presumably on mount (now removed, missing, but recorded in file), Recto: upper right, pen and ink: “Martin le Jeune.”.

Collector's mark: Verso: lower left corner, only partially stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
