Watermark: centre: coat of arms of a bishop, topped by a prelate's hat and flanked by six tassels on each side (no match found in Heawood but see, for example, Heawood 791-799, all Italian marks roughly dated 1635-1646).

Inscription: Removed, cut down and now remounted with the drawing, brown ink: Bassotti.
