Inscription: Recto: on buff paper in centre, lower right corner, graphite: "7/6"; lower right on the frame, brown ink, signed by the artist? Partly cut off: "Boel fecit"; lower left edge of frame, brown ink, inscription now completely cut away and only ascenders visible.
Collector's mark: Verso: lower left corner, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
