A former backing sheet has been removed, with only the right and left edges remaining; evidently it was a printed map, with remnants of boundaries, trees and place names printed in black ink such as “Chin[…]”, “[…]ille” and “Tolou[…]”.
Collector's mark: Verso: lower right corner (on remnant of a former backing sheet), stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
Stamp: Verso: centre, purple ink: "FROM / THE GEORGE GALLERY. / 55 GEORGE STREET. / EDINBURGH".
