Inner mount (removed, cut down, in box of mounts in P&D): graphite, scratched out: 2111; brown ink, with 'Mayer' added in graphite: Ludovico Cardi (detto Ludovico Cigoli) nat. 1559 ob. 1613 Sc. Florence ex colln. Crozat, Mayer and Edward Perks [the latter a misreading of 'Peart'].

Collector's mark: Recto: lower left corner, pen and brown ink: Dr Edward Peart (L.891, but without any full stops); lower left, stamped in black ink: William Mayor (L.2799); lower right corner, stamped in black ink, partially trimmed away: unidentified collector (L.474). Verso (lower left corner) and again on Mount (removed but still mounted with the drawing), Recto (lower left): stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
