Watermark: Watermark: centre: shield containing kneeling man before a small cross (matches Heawood 1353 - Florence 1647; see tracing in file. Schatborn agreed and also found it in Woodward 1996, pp. 34-36, no. 24 dated 1588, no. 25 dated 1618 and no. 27 dated 1591).

Inscription: Recto: lower right corner, brown ink, signed by the artist: "J. Worst". Verso (hidden under Japanese tissue): upper left, graphite: "2667/No35"; lower right, graphite: monogram belonging to Williams & Sutch.

Collector's mark: Verso (hidden under Japanese tissue): lower right edge, stamped in black ink: Sir Robert Witt (L.2228b).
