[The rebels make peace to Ulysses’ advantage, constrained by the help given to him by Minerva and by Jupiter’s thunderbolt. This shows how a great battle is followed by great calm, and that God knows how to humble the pride of rebels, who are never so weak when they believe themselves strongest.]
