Inscription: Recto: lower centre, brown ink, ‘AvD’ in monogram: TvT 55.AvD.; lower margin, brown ink: L’on enterre les corps de ceux qu’Ulysse avoit tuez, pour venger leurs insolences, et la recherche qu’ils faisoient de / penelope. Il ne se peut donner un meilleur exemple, que celuy-cy de la generosite d’un grand prince, qui n’empesche jamais, que / l’on ne rende les devoirs de la sepulture aux ennemis qu’il a deffaicts. [The bodies of those whom Ulysses has killed to avenge their insolence and their pursuit of Penelope, are buried. One cannot give a better example of the generosity of a great Prince, which never prevents him from rendering burial services to his enemies, whom he has defeated.]
