Inscription: Recto: lower centre edge, light brown ink: “Lodovico Carracci.”; lower left corner, light brown ink, Zomer's hand: “KEER. OM.” ["turn over"; same inscription on a drawing in the National Gallery of Canada (no. 287), attributed to Carlo Urbino, and other sheets that came from Zomer's collectiont have drawings on both sides, see Michiel Plomp, 'Jan Pietersz. Zomer's inscriptions on drawings', Delineavit et Sculpsit, 17, March 1997, p. 14]. Verso: upper right corner, brown ink: “Rx 4 150” [similar inscriptions appear on other drawings belonging to Zomer, see Plomp 1997, p. 27, note 56, where it is described by Keyes 1975 as 'an anonymous collector's paraphe' when it appears on drawings by Vroom, or by David Scrase in a personal letter suggesting it could be a price in Florins].
