Inscription: Recto: lower centre, brown ink, artist's hand: "12. All cloudy. except one large opening. with / others smaller. the cloud lighter than the / plain part - and darker at the top than / the bottom. / The tint twice in the openings. and once in ye clouds".

Collector's mark: Could also be a papermark? Verso: lower left corner, blindstamped, a horizontal shield with floral garlands surrounding word: "BATH" (not in Lugt).
