In this work, what may initially appear to be an intimate scene of lovers’ intertwining limbs, becomes almost grotesque as a disconnected hand with painted nails drapes over the left head, and a leg wraps around the puddle of limbs, the foot emerging through the foregrounded bent arm. Regardless of their current state, the faces express a certain ease, as if accustomed to having their sublime discomfort on full display, their bodies contorted into an anatomically impossible embrace.
